Instruments of Inquiry: Understanding the Nature and Role of Tools in Design

Peter Dalsgaard is an Associate Professor of Interaction Design at Aarhus University. His work explores the theory and practice of interaction design from a humanistic perspective with a focus on collaborative design, creativity, innovation, and tools and spaces that combine digital and physical aspects in meaningful ways. He heads the Digital Creativity Lab and the research projects CoCreate and Creative Tools, which focus on understanding how digital tools influence creative work processes, and developing digitally enhanced tools and spaces that help people create and innovate. He has written extensively on pragmatism as a conceptual framework for interaction design, including articles in the International Journal of Design, ACM CHI and ACM DIS.
